The 21st May 2025 will go down in history as the day Spurs finally won a trophy and the under 18s lost a game of cricket.

We didn't score enough runs for the second week running, but wow, the lads had a good go at defending it.

The noise in the field was at times chilling and others farcical.

Highlights this week were "It can't be a no ball he hit it"
"How close was I"
"Get him with the slower ball"
"Anything their scorer said"
Trying and falling to communicate with the scorer with a walkie talkie

James was exceptional again, scoring good runs and chipping in with a wicket.
Noah hit a smart 13. Isaac walked on to the pitch and hit a sweet four with his first shot.
Whilst fielding, Shaw's cause was helped by one of the opposition going home before he had chance to bat meaning we only needed nine wickets.
A neat caught and bowled by Lucas got the first.
Isaac then took a smart caught behind again off Lucas's bowling. Seven to go.
Freddie, not wishing to be left out clean bowled their third wicket.
Kav then steps up with his deceiving medium pacers and courtesy of a smart catch by Theo at point takes the fourth. Five required!
Recognising that pace wasn't working James took a wicket with his first ball bowling for Shaw and all of a sudden we were into their tail and smelling blood.
Kav takes a second wicket courtesy of a simple catch by Oliver.
Then after a maiden over Kav gets their seventh with a neat stumping from Isaac.

At this point Heyside (sorry, of course I mean Heywood, but they are easily confused) needed two runs, and Shaw required two wickets. Heywood were struggling to find the gaps in a tight Shaw field but eventually they had a hit and hope come off which allowed us all to go home and plan our trips to Wembley!

My player of the match nominees were James, although he did get it last week. Isaac for some tremendous keeping, though for some incredible figures of four overs, one maiden and three wickets at the cost of just seven runs player of the match was Kav.
A very popular choice in the dressing room.

We now move into the performance league and won't find out next weeks opponents until the weekend.
