Right then, matchweek 5 was comprehensive. After a week of transfer talks and rumours and a few moves between clubs team Anavar and team Purple locked horns yet again. For the first time in 2 weeks the rivalry commenced. KO started and the ball was moving fast. High intensity with both teams looking equally as intense. The deadline was broken. With George Russ making a very early impact. George scored his token goal in the first 20 minutes, this was a surreal experience for not just George but the rest of his team. Team anavar were defending tightly and chances were rare for team purple in the first half. It took a quick drilled kick in and a rare mistake from anavar keeper Grillich lead to an easy tap in for Fordy at the back post. Fordy the previous anavar player then wheeled off in celebration and was seen kissing the badge… The anavar players didn’t take to this well and quickly upped there play moving the ball well with a number of players looking composed and confident on the ball with very few misplaced passes. A goal from Jarro gave anavar the advantage. A shot from Ben Carroll was then sharply saved by Grillich to keep anavar ahead. At this point I think Tox was on the pitch. After a few passes around the back for purple and a bit of confidence restored, tox went off again. 2-1 quickly became 3 on the brink of half time. Purple looked in shock and a few players turned their frustration on eachother. Less said the better, however I do want to insist that the game is ultimately a bunch of mates playing football and no one is anything special so going forward I think it’s an element of the game we don’t need to have. Anyways, back to the game and the 2nd half started slowly with the progressive dying of legs becoming clearly visible. Up step Sergio RamOCal, OCal 2nd half served up nothing short of a masterclass. Alongside a goal line clearance ocal got the ball 50 yards out, after hearing the shouts of ‘pass’ OCal didn’t listen and let his right peg loose. OCal tactically hit it directly on to purples shoulder so that it would rebound and nestle into the top left corner, leaving Swanny clueless. Jedemy Doku looked tired on the left wing and repeated crosses to the elk mill Starbucks simple upset purple even more. The game was past recovery after purple bagged a couple of late consolation goals. Purple visibly struggled this week but I’m sure they will be back in weeks to come. Keav rounded off a quality anavar performance with a stunning team goal. The night had a theme of rarity with the likes of GRus pressing, Tox not playing and a quiet game from a few notably key players on purple. Grillich, ocal and Matley having there best games yet alongside the usual stalwarts playing well, with purple not up to it. All round a great game again and another quality week. The game is the highlight of the week for most lads in here so let’s continue good spirits and competitive football. Cheers lads?
