The second game of the evening was against Greenfield A. With both sides previously unbeaten it was always going to be a tough game especially with some key players missing.
Captain Nisar lost the toss again but wasn't too disappointed to be bowling first. Stevo again got a wicket in the first over, however a bit of an onslaught against Layla and Isaac swung the game back in Greenfields favour, Teddie came in to the attack and stopped the flow of runs and picked up a key wicket. We then turned the screw with Ali and Cheuben's 4 overs only costing a misely 11 runs with them both picking up a wicket a piece. Greenfield managed 57/4 which was a very competitive target considering their bowling strength.
Stevo and Isaac got us off to a steady but uncharacteristically cautious approach 20 runs between them with just the 1 wicket due to a mix up running between the wickets. Ali and Teddie got us close to the target before Cheuben and Layla came to the crease to confidentially take us past the target, in a game in which boundaries were difficult to come by Layla seemed to find the boundary with comparative ease to settle any nerves. All that was left to complete the win was for Charles to stride to the crease to replace his mentor Cheuben in the last over and clip the last ball of the game, over square leg for a one bounce 4 much to the delight of his team mates.
A great game and test for this fantastic group who continue to move from strength to strength
