An incredible start for a team in which 6 of the players only started playing cricket 12 months ago.

Shaw didn't have their own way in this one though as Royton dismissed skipper Widdall who was perhaps regretting his decision to bat first as he could only spoon a delivery that stopped in the pitch to square leg. He recovered after this and along with Cheuben Canning they got us off to a steady start. The innings never really got any imputeus until big Reuben after playing himself in patiently hit a couple of huge 6's to get us going. We finished on 117/6 which was a little disappointing by our standards. We would have to bowl and field really well.

Big Reuben and not so big Alfie opened the bowling with great control and both grabbed a wicket a piece. Alfie also took a great catch. Vincent and Bridget came on next with Vincent grabbing a wicket thanks to Alfie's catch and Bridget being a coat of paint away from lighting up the zingers on several occasions and being really unfortunate not to pick up a wicket. Next to bowl was Cheuben bowling his left arm rockets. Zingers lit up and stumps flying in every direction soon followed, along with a kiss of the badge. Milo was on next with a rather impressive display taking just the 3 wickets from his 2 overs for the cost of 3 runs!! And finally the innings was finished off by Harry (2 wickets) however in this tale Harry is not the wizard. Our very own wizard Ali picked up 2 wickets for just 1 run off his 2 overs with his spin bowling mastery. In the end we ran out winners by 104 runs. Player of the Match was awarded to Milo.

Yet another fabulous team performace by the incredible U11s.
