Mr. Rafferty, Managing Director of the successful Shaw-based Combro Construction, has been a dedicated supporter of the Club, providing accommodation for several overseas players in recent seasons.
In a statement upon accepting the role, Mr. Rafferty said, “It is an honour to be asked to chair Shaw Cricket Club. Having lived in Shaw for over 30 years and being just a short walk from the ground, I know what a pivotal part the club plays in the community. I have spoken with many people involved in the club over the past couple of months. Their passion for making the club the best it can be truly excites me. I look forward to guiding the club and collaborating with both the Executive and General Committees for what we hope will be a successful season for all our teams, laying the groundwork for the club’s 130th anniversary in 2027.”
During the meeting, Mr. Rafferty's partner, Helen, accepted the position of Secretary taking over from Catherine Matley who kindly stepped in to fill the void last season, Claire Barry was re-elected as Treasurer while Mark Stafford agreed to continue as President.
